He was licensed in Germany prior to his importation and will be presented to the North American Stallion Sport Testing in 2024 to beginning his road to full approval with all the major European registries.

With a stacked pedigree including THREE stallions from the TOP 20 on the WBFSH Top Sire Rankings of 2022, Diamante de Semilly (#2), Coronet Obolensky (#14) and Comme Il Faut (#16) as well as legends Voltaire and Burggraaf, Otamendi has it in him to produce superstars!!

SIRE: Don VHP Z was Horse of the Year in Europe in 2017! he was ridden by Harrie Smolders since 2015. This combination has achieved many international top performances at the highest level. Don and Smolders are Vice European Champions, they jumped double-clear to win the Final of the Longines Nations Cup in Barcelona, jumped double-clear in the CSIO Hickstead and are winners of the GCT GP Rome. The duo gained attention in 2019 with 2nd place at the LGCT CP CSI5* GP in Miami, 3rd at the LGCT GP in Mexico City and a win in the 1m55 Grand Prix at CSI3* Knokke. They continued their successes together and placed 4th in the 1m55 Jump Off at the CSI5* GCT Valkenswaard and at the CSI5* Stephex Masters in Brussels. In 2017 Don jumped an incredible 85% clear rounds at 1m60 level! In 2018 they won the GCT of Hamburg, in 2019 the GP of Knokke. With Diamant de Semilly in the pedigree we find the proven French bloodlines that guarantee the production of progeny of International showjumping caliber. He was an exceptional showjumper and is a proven sire born in 1991, out of Le Tot de Semilly. Diamant won team gold at the World Championship in 2002 at Jerez de la Frontera and placed 9th in the individual final, 2002 team gold and 2003 team silver European Championship in Donaueschingen. He also won numerous Grand prix competitions including GP Saint-Lo and GP Caen. Many descendants of Diamant de Semilly are still active at the highest level of show jumping such as Emerald van t' Ruytershof.

DAM: Otamendi's dam is by the world renowned stallion Comme Il Faut! The sires in Comme il Faut's pedigree have all competed at the international level 1.60: Cornet, Clinton, Corrado I, Heartbreaker, Ramiro Z and Alme Z. But beyond that: they have their performance genes by giving knowledge to succeeding generations. However, the mares Comme il Faut's pedigree make it complete. Mother and grandmother Ratina Z Heureka Z were among the best mares of their time and their quality is even today can not be underestimated.
Comme il Faut notable for his jumping technique, power and strength. The stallion was under rider Peppi Dahlman vice Bundes Champion and Vice World Champion of young horses in Lanaken. In 2013 came Comme il Faut ridden by Marcus Ehning who brought him success in the year at five-star level.
She also has two other breeding legends in her pedigree in Burrgraff and Voltaire!

We have very high hopes for this young stallion not only in the breeding shed but also in the Hunter and Derby rings in the future!
