The Hunter Breeding Handlers Rule

The new rule for Hunter Breeding Handlers is causing a lot of discussion and disagreement on social media. Here is how the new rule is described in the press release issued by the USHJA: Hunter Breeding Handlers - HU 188.4 (Tracking No. 183-17): This rule change states that at Premier and National rated competitions, a handler may not exhibit more than one horse in each of the Hunter Breeding classes listed in HU 189 or HU 190. Further it requires that at these competitions the same handler must present the horse in all phases of the class and horses will be lined up in the order of preference for a final judging opportunity. The rule change states that at Regional I and II rated competitions, a handler may exhibit multiple horses. ...read more

Contefino Offspring: Recent Success

Royal Oaks Farm would like to share an update on Holsteiner stallion Contefino’s offspring, who have been doing well recently. Contefino is a Holsteiner with an International jumping record, who earned a 10 for jumping ability and a 10 for technique at his approvals in Germany. He seems to be passing it on! New Judges and Locations Announced for 2018 USEA Young Event Horse Championships

"The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is pleased to announce the dates, locations, and judges for the 2018 Young Event Horse (YEH) East and West Coast Championships. "The YEH East Coast Championships will be held Thursday-Friday, October 18-19 at Fair Hill International in Elkton, Md. The YEH West Coast Championships will move to a new location this year at the Fresno County Horse Park in Fresno, Calif. on Sunday, October 21. "The YEH Championship judges on both coasts this year will be Lucinda Green (GBR), Sally Ike (USA), and Chris Ryan (IRL). 70-Day Champion, 2x USDF Horse of the Year, winner from YH to FEI
From in-hand as a yearling, to competing at the FEI levels, Qredit has been a consistent winner. He was Champion of his 70-Day Stallion Test, earning ten scores of 9 or higher in the testing. He has been Grand Champion of Dressage at Devon, Reserve Champion at the USEF National Young Horse Finals, and USDF Horse of the Year. At age 8, Qredit in now winning at Intermediaire I with scores as high as 80.5%.

Qredit’s sire, Quaterback, was winner of the Bundeschampionat and his 30-Day Test. Depsite a heavy breeding schedule, he is now also competing at FEI. Quaterback offspring are winning from foal shows, to the Young Horse divisions, and into the FEI ring. Qredit’s dam is a Premium Oldenburg mare that is by the Grand Prix stallion Dream of Glory. From the legendary Donnerhall-Pik Bube combination, Dream of Glory sired 4 licensed stallions, Bundeschampionat winners, high-priced auction offspring, and many Advanced Level dressage competitors.

The Qredit foals are inheriting their sire’s movement and expression with numerous Premium Foals and Inspection Site Champions. His offspring have won at Dressage at Devon, USDF/GAIG Championships, and Qredit’s oldest are now winning undersaddle with excellent scores.
