Chinggis Khan

MELLOW yet ATHLETIC stallion for all your amateur needs
Chinggis string tests to finish about 16.2hh. He has an impeccable shoulder, short back, and very strong hind end. He’s a flat kneed mover with a very balanced and slow canter.

We expect he will excel in the hunter-jumper world, but has been exposed to foxhunting and eventing. We would like for him to be a great allrounder.

He started his show career in summer 2023, and has been such a cool cucumber, earning the top dressage score at the YEH competition in August.

He competed in the Young Event Horse and Bred to Event Classic in the 5yo division in 2024 and impressed the Olympic judges with his power, scope, and wonderful temperament. They didn't even know he was a stallion until they were told!

In September, he showed in the Hunt Night classes at the Warrenton Horse Show, Placing in the jumping classes and quietly hanging out next to the in-gate with every other horse there.

We know his sire, Concerto Grosso, was very prepotent — and consistently threw size, fantastic temperament, wonderful gaits, scope, and always improved upon the mare’s conformation, no matter her faults. This is one of the many reasons Chinggis has remained a stallion. Besides that, he is stunning, extremely quiet, sweet, and well mannered. Well, and obviously the inspector really liked him during his stallion approval with ISR/Oldenburg NA. He is branded Oldenburg and has his provisional breeding license.

Chinggis’ dam is my (Nicolette’s) very safe and extremely scopey personal hunt horse, Empress Lisa (aka Angel The Hunt Horse) an off-track mare by Storm Boot, out of a Marquetry mare. From what I’ve learned about her pedigree is that Marquetry has produced many hunter type offspring. Angel is dainty, sure-footed, careful, and at nearly 17 years of age, still incredibly sound and agile with no joint maintenance or special shoeing. She does her job in the hunt field on autopilot, in a snaffle on the buckle, and I would trust her with your grandmother’s life. She is the first to greet you in the field and loves to be pampered.
