Adrienne Lyle and Harmony’s Duval Awarded The Dressage Foundation’s $25,000 Anne Ramsay Grant

The Dressage Foundation has announced that Adrienne Lyle and Harmony’s Duval have been selected to receive this year’s $25,000 Anne L. Barlow Ramsay Grant. The purpose of the Grant is to showcase talented American-bred horses ridden by United States citizens, by providing money to train and compete in Europe. Harmony’s Duval was bred by Harmony Sporthorses in Kiowa, Colorado. more

Dressage at Devon Analysis: Sneak Preview

I had a lovely time at the Dressage at Devon breed show 2018, in spite of the rain. What I saw in 2018 were American-bred winners being the rule rather than the exception. Of the horses in breed classes who scored over 80%, three-quarters were US-bred. Of the five top-scoring horses of all the breed classes, four were bred in the US. Proven Grand Prix Competitor and Sire, USDF Dressage Breeding Sire of the Year
Don Principe has competed at the FEI levels with seven different riders over 10 years at that level is still going strong. That soundness, adaptability, and heart are truly unique. Don Principe has won multiple USDF Regional Championships, many USDF All-Breeds Awards, and has competed at both the USDF and USEF National Championships. In 2017, he added another accolade when he won the USEF "Brentina Cup" U-25 Grand Prix Championships.

His sire Donnerhall was an International Grand Prix star and was on the medal winning German Teams at the World Equestrian Games and European Championships. Donnerhall’s influence on dressage breeding is undeniable. At the 2016 Olympic Games, over 31% of the dressage horses carried Donnerhall blood.

Don Principe has sired Elite/Premium Mares, Licensed Stallions, USDF Horse of the Year winners, and US National Champions. He was the USEF Dressage Breeding Sire of the Year in 2013 and has sired a Grand Champion of Dressage at Devon. Rideability, work ethic, and an outstanding walk are trademarks that Don Principe is passing along to his offspring. His offspring are smart, show a talent for the collected work, and are easily developed by amateurs or professionals.
